I was interested in the feeling someone leaves behind when they are no longer there. An empty chair, a cup of coffee and the shadow of a person who has just left suggest a moment that has passed, yet somehow still feels present.
The shadow is more than just a shadow; it represents the person who was there moments before, leaving a trace of their presence behind. I like that we don’t know who this person was, where they went, or what happened before they left.
Perhaps they will return in a few minutes, or perhaps their departure means something more. I wanted to leave this open to interpretation, allowing each viewer to connect the scene with their own memories and experiences.
Sometimes, even when a person is no longer physically there, a part of them seems to remain.
